$Hard Living Songs es la oportunidad que me brinda mi estimado amigo Carlos Ferrer de recopilar en un solo disco una salvaje y breve selección de la música que me mueve, con la que trabajamos cada día en el estudio, canciones de bandas amigas o grupos fetiche. Aunque me hubiera gustado disponer de al menos diez horas de compilación para poder incluir un buen número de temazos, finalmente he tenido que condensarlo en esta selección de 25 canciones. He pretendido hacer un disco terapéutico, con mucho sentido del humor y para tomar la carretera; un alegato incendiario, suicida e infractor, música en estado puro y ritmos para todos los oídos abiertos y optimistas. Los temas pertenecen a álbumes de conocidas bandas que han sido elegidos porque, de algún modo, me evocan esta idea de vida dura a la vez que su grandeza, el amor, la amistad, el camino a seguir y la importancia de cada segundo que los envuelve. El tiempo no se detiene, a veces respiramos y otras nos ahogamos, y esos son los momentos que escriben nuestra vida, así que ¡Muévete! como diría Victor Coyote. ¡No olvides vivir hasta el día que mueras! -Manel L. ‘Hard Living Songs’ it is an opportunity that my dear friend Carlos Ferrer has given to me to collect on one disc a wild short selection of the music that moves me, the one that we listen to everyday at the studio, songs of my friends bands and my fetish groups. Although I would have liked to make at least ten hours compilation to include a bigger number of great songs, finally I had to condense it in this selection of 25 songs. I tried to make a therapeutic disk, with lot of sense of humor and to ride on the road; an arsonist suicide offender manifesto, pure music and rhythms for all the open optimistic ears. Songs belong to well known bands albums that have been chosen because, somehow, they evoke the idea of hard living while its greatness, love, friendship, the way to follow and the importance of every second that encloses it. Time doesn’t stop, sometimes we breathe and sometimes we feel drowning, and all those moments write the story of our life, so, as Víctor Coyote would say: Keep moving!
